Kalvin Phillips has suggested that he would happily stay at Leeds United for the rest of his career.

Phillips has been a revelation this season. Marcelo Bielsa has used the midfielder in a deep-lying role that has seen him often act as a third centre-back while also trying to be something of a quarterback going forward for the Championship high-flyers.
Under Bielsa, the academy graduate is crucial to the balance of the side. And while reflecting on starting every game under the current head coach, Phillips outlined that his goal is to remain a key man, perhaps even for the rest of his career.
“I think I have done reasonably well. I have played in every game which is good and I am staying fit as well – touch wood. I’m just looking to try and play as many games as possible and try and help get Leeds back into the Premier League where the club belongs,” he told the club’s official website.

And when asked about starting every game, he added: “Obviously that speaks for itself, I am a hard worker. I love playing for Leeds, it is my city and if I can do that for the rest of my life I would love it.”
The comments from the 22-year-old will delight many of the Elland Road faithful given that it would appear that Leeds may face a fight to hold onto the midfielder over the coming windows.

Leeds cannot expect Phillips to stick around if exciting offers are coming in and the Whites are continuing to struggle to get out of the second tier in the coming years. But his comments certainly suggest that he would love nothing more than to be pulling the strings in Leeds’ midfield in the top flight.
