Kalvin Phillips has sent his message of support to Luke Ayling as he tried to come to terms with Leeds United’s relegation from the Premier League.
The Leeds United defender posted on Instagram ‘we let this club down’ and ‘all my attention now is to make sure we bounce back straight away’.
In the comments section of Luke Ayling’s emotional IG post to fans, he received many messages of support, including from Kalvin Phillips, who after winning the FA Cup with Manchester City against Manchester United on Saturday, posted: ‘Love you man’, whilst Mateusz Klich added: ‘You got this’.
From sitting mid-table in the Championship to sitting in the top half of the Premier League, Ayling has been through it all in Yorkshire.
The 31-year-old, who moved to Elland Road in 2016, will be hurting more than anyone else in that dressing room and will be desperate to help push the club back up.
But as fans of relegated teams know too well, it’s never that easy, in fact, it’s more likely you stay in the Championship than come straight back up.
These next few weeks will be very important in who Leeds appoints because that new face in the dugout will set the tempo of a club that is morale-sapped and divided from top to bottom.

STEVEN GERRARD – LEEDS BOUND?
The legendary midfielder might have had a stellar career as a player, but he has already taken a significant blow as a manager.
Steven Gerrard’s most-recent spell at Aston Villa saw him sacked in less than 12 months, with the Midlands side hovering above the relegation zone and below Leeds in the table, at the time.
Then Unai Emery takes charge in November, without any major changes, blasts them up the table, into a European spot and 30 points ahead of the Whites by the time the final ball is kicked in May.
Will Gerrard’s last job be off-putting for the Leeds fans? Because it has been suggested that he could be in line to take the role.
