Leeds United central midfielder Kalvin Phillips has suggested to The Yorkshire Evening Post that he does not want to leave the club.

Phillips has been on the books of Leeds since 2010 and has established himself in the first team after rising through the ranks.

The 22-year-old’s current contract with the West Yorkshire outfit runs until June 2021, according to Transfermarkt.com.

The youngster has revealed his intention to remain at Leeds and does not want to leave Elland Road.

Phillips told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “Obviously this is my home town. I was born here and I don’t want to be anywhere else.

“I want to get the team back to the Premiership and then we’ll keep working from there.”

Phillips is one of the best young midfielders in the Championship, and the performances of the 22-year-old so far this season have been very encouraging.

The youngster has scored five goals and provided two assists in 24 Championship starts for Leeds so far this season.

The Whites are going strong in the Championship at the moment and are very much in the race for the playoffs.

Thomas Christiansen’s side are currently sixth in the league table with 43 points from 26 matches, six points behind second-placed Derby County.
