Leeds followed up their stunning 3-0 home victory over Fulham last weekend with a disappointing 1-1 midweek draw against struggling Luton.
That makes it four points from a possible nine since lockdown but the Whites remain top of the Championship with their destiny in their own hands.
Kalvin Phillips told Leeds Live that the players were uncharacteristically sniping at each other during the match at Elland Road on Tuesday night.
The English midfielder revealed that led to a team meeting in the aftermath of the game, clearing the air and refocusing their efforts on the task at hand – getting promoted.

He said: “As a team we find it more comfortable going at a team that’s coming at us. Luton, it frustrated us a little bit, you saw that towards the end of the game, us players arguing and stuff like that.
“It’s not really in our nature to start arguing between each other. We had a talk yesterday and said no matter what happens, as long as we’re confident in ourselves and we’ve got to keep on fighting to try and get results.”
Leeds will not be playing in front of packed-out crowds at Elland Road this season but the weight of expectation remains there because the club has spent so long outside the Premier League.
Phillips and his team-mates will be determined to avoid a repeat of last season’s collapse and it’s clear they’ve understood the importance of unity and clear heads at this stage.
