Kalvin Phillips has committed his long-term future to Leeds United after being linked with a move to Aston Villa in the summer.

Kalvin Phillips has stated on Instagram that signing a new contract with Leeds United is a ‘proud’ moment for him, as Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has congratulated him on his new deal.
On Monday, Leeds announced on their official website that Phillips has signed a five-year contract with the Championship club amid interest in his services from Aston Villa in the summer.
Following Villa’s promotion to the Premier League in May, they seemingly were keen on Phillips’ services as they were looking to bulk up their squad, as reported by The Telegraph.
But Phillips will now stay in Yorkshire as he sent this message to his supporters on his personal Instagram, as a number of players, including the likes of Grealish, Eddie Nketiah and Patrick Bamford reacted to his message.

Just like Grealish last season, Phillips is playing for his boyhood club, signing a new deal and hoping he can earn promotion to the Premier League.
Grealish was deemed too good for the Championship and the same could be said for Phillips, but if Leeds can put the wrongs of last season right then they’ll no doubt earn promotion.
But whether it happens or not, the Elland Road faithful will be well aware that it’s going to very tough given the nature of the Championship.
Leeds are currently sitting third in England’s second-tier and after the international break they will take on newly-promoted Barnsley.
