Leeds United have plenty of goals in them, according to Kalvin Phillips.
Leeds United Kalvin Phillips has told BBC Radio Leeds that the team have “a lot of goals in them” this season.
Thomas Christiansen’s side are gearing up for their third match of the season – second in the Championship – as Preston North End visit a sold-out Elland Road tomorrow afternoon.
Leeds have managed seven goals in their opening two games, having followed up their 3-2 win at Bolton Wanderers with a 4-1 League Cup win over Port Vale on Wednesday.
Under Garry Monk, it took the Whites six matches to reach the seven-goal mark last season but Christiansen and Director of Football Victor Orta have recruited a plethora of attacking talent this summer, including Samu Saiz who bagged three in midweek.
And Phillips, who himself scored twice at Bolton last weekend, says that the new-look Whites side has plenty of threat in the final third of the pitch.
He told BBC Radio Leeds, when asked if the team’s seven-goal haul so far is a taste of things to come: “Yeah we’ve got great players that have come in. Samu scored a hat-trick the other day and he’s a great player.
“I believe all the players have something to offer. We’re great going forward and I believe we’ve got a lot of goals in us.”
