Kalvin Phillips has told Sky Sports – as per Football Daily – that he is still in the Leeds United group chat despite his move to Manchester City, stating he is actually one of the admins. He says he will be upset if he is kicked out.
Phillips, 26, left Leeds for the first time in his career earlier this summer to join Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. He penned a five-year deal, in a transfer worth an initial £42million with add-ons worth another £3million.
He is one of two high-profile players to leave Leeds – with Raphinha completing a £55million transfer to Barcelona. A move that sees Barcelona pay Leeds an initial figure of £50million, and then another £5million in add-ons.

Good business for Leeds, given they have been able to rake in more than £90million straight away. Asked about his relationship with the Leeds players following his move, Phillips says he is still in the Leeds group chat – and is an admin.
“The day that I get kicked out of that [Leeds United’s WhatsApp group chat] I’ll be quite upset,” Phillips said. “I’m one of the admins. Liam Cooper is one of the admins too. I’ve got so many friends there. I’m happy to still be in that.”
Phillips still in Leeds group chat despite Manchester City move
He remains a fan favourite at Leeds despite his move to The Etihad. A brilliant player, an academy product and a leader in returning Leeds to the Premier League. His contribution, during the Marcelo Bielsa era, will not be forgotten.
Should he still be a part of the Leeds group chat? As long as there are no revelations about the inside workings at Elland Road, especially before a game against Manchester City, then why not? He will always be thought of highly.
