Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has said on Sky Sports Premier League (4:08pm, September 12, 2021) that Kalvin Phillips could leave Leeds United at the end of the season.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that if Leeds are unable to grow and progress as a club, then they run the risk of losing the England international next summer.
Hasselbaink played for Leeds from 1997 until 1999 before moving to Atletico Madrid in Spain.
The pundit said about Phillips on Sky Sports Premier League (4:08pm, September 12, 2021), as transcribed by Leeds Live: “He is magnificent, he can tackle, he can pass, he can head the ball and run forward with the ball.
“It’s going to be hard for Leeds to keep him this season, Leeds need to keep on kicking on and grow as a club to keep him here.”

Could Kalvin Phillips leave Leeds United?
Phillips was linked with a move away from Leeds before.
The Whites were then in the Championship and Aston Villa came calling, but the 25-year-old did not leave, as he himself told iNews last week.
Phillips stayed at Leeds and played a big role in the club winning promotion, and then last season, he helped the West Yorkshire club finish in the top half of the Premier League table.

Now, of course, if the England international does well again this season, then big clubs could come calling next summer.
Phillips is a Leeds fan, and it is unlikely that the midfielder will force a move through.
Leeds could, of course, be tempted by a big offer. We know that money talks, but the Whites are a well-run club who do not exactly need to sell players for cash.
It would take a massive bid for Leeds to even consider selling Phillips.
