The Championship side managed to bring the 27-year-old in on a permanent deal.
Liam Bridcutt during his loan spell last season
Kalvin Phillips has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that Liam Bridcutt is a great signing for Leeds United before explaining what makes him so important to the side.
The 27-year-old spent the majority of last season on loan at Elland Road, and clearly did enough during that spell as, despite there being a change of head coach over the summer, the Championship side brought him back, this time on a permanent deal.

And despite having another player standing between himself and a spot in the first-team, Phillips has insisted that he is delighted to see the former Brighton man back.
“Liam’s a great signing,” Phillips told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“I played with him a couple of times last year and he’s the eyes and ears around the midfield. With me being so young, he helps me out.”
Bridcutt proved last season to be an excellent addition to the Whites’ side as his presence in front of the back four brought some stability to an area where the club previously looked most vulnerable.

And it is perhaps no coincidence that his debut following his permanent switch coincided with the club’s first win in the league this season as he played the full 90 minutes during the 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
So while Phillips may initially find first-team opportunities more difficult to come by with Bridcutt back, he will know that working alongside the Scotland international everyday will boost his chances of reaching his potential.
