Roy Keane has said on ITV (11:50pm, July 11, 2021) that Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice of West Ham United will improve.
The former Manchester United midfielder made the comments after England lost to Italy in the Euro 2020 final last night.
Leeds’s Phillips and West Ham’s Rice started for England in midfield and played well.
The two midfielders were superb for the Three Lions at the European Championship.
Keane said on ITV (11:50pm, July 11, 2021): “Rice is 22 years of age. He is going to get better. Of course, he is. He has got to improve in terms of what he does in possession particularly.”
The ITV pundit added: “Phillips, two seasons ago, he was playing in the Championship. These lads will get better. He is 25.”

Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice were brilliant
England were superb at Euro 2020, and one of the reasons why the Three Lions were so good was the partnership between Phillips and Rice.
The two players formed a strong partnership in the middle of the park and played well alongside each other.
When Phillips went on the attack, Rice stayed back, and when the West Ham star went on a run, the Leeds man stayed behind.
Phillips and Rice seemed to enjoy playing alongside each other in midfield for England.
During his seven games in the tournament, the Leeds star made four attempts, gave one assist, made 13 tackles, had a pass accuracy of 87%, made 32 ball recoveries, and covered 83km.
Rice played seven matches, made one attempt, made 10 tackles, made 28 ball recoveries, covered 62.5km, and committed six fouls.
