Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has explained to LUTV the importance of the fans.

The 21-year-old central midfielder has said that the Leeds fans are like the 12th member of the team.

The youngster made the comments following the Whites’ win against Ipswich Town at home at the weekend.

There was almost 35,000 fans at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, as Leeds got the better of Ipswich 3-2 in the Championship.

Phillips told LUTV when asked about the fans: “It’s cliche, it is. It’s like a 12th man out here, and obviously all their support eggs us on to do better.”

Leeds have some of the best fans in the country, and the supporters have been a major reason why the Whites are doing so well this season.

The West Yorkshire outfit have started the season brilliantly, and the fans must be enjoying themselves at the moment.

Leeds will take on Cardiff City away from home at the Cardiff City Stadium in the Championship.
