The newly called-up England international, Kalvin Phillips, has told the Guardian that Marcelo Bielsa will be ‘pulling his hair out’ ahead of Leeds United’s clash with Liverpool because of the national fixtures.
The Global Health Crisis has changed a lot of things in recent months, including the delay of the 2020/21 Premier League season.
It means that international matches, which are usually played after the start of the new campaign, are now being played before a ball is kicked.
Leeds, who won promotion to the promised land by becoming champions of the Championship, have a number of players on national duty ahead of their clash against the Reds, as Phillips shared how his manager will be feeling about that.
“I think he will be pulling his hair out because a few of the lads have joined up with national teams and he wants to prepare for the game against Liverpool,” Phillips told the Guardian.
“He puts a lot into his preparation, as you have probably heard, but it’s mostly the trainers we work with. We don’t really see him that much, and when he does have something to say or explain, he still uses an interpreter to get his message across.
“It sounds complicated but we are all used to it now and it seems to work. I’m not convinced he still needs an interpreter, I’m fairly sure his English is better than he lets on, but that’s the way he likes to work and no one at Leeds is complaining.”

There’s no doubt that this is a mouthwatering tie and a game that the Premier League has missed because of the Yorkshire club’s 16-year absence from the elite.
Bielsa will be pitting his wits against Jurgen Klopp, who has won the Premier League title and the European Cup during his time at Anfield.
Those two trophies have taken a lot out of the German and his players, but it’s going to get tougher now because it’s not easy retaining the crown.

Leeds will prove to be a very tough and tricky test given that they are one of the best pressing teams in the country.
In January, they faced Arsenal in the FA Cup, and despite suffering a defeat, that first-half performance proved what they are capable of against the top teams in England.
Now they get to do it on a regular basis!
