Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips has apologised for his red card against Nottingham Forest.
Phillips caught opponent Adlene Guedioura late, leaving him writhing on the pitch in pain.
He was immediately sent off, putting Leeds under pressure.
Leeds lost the game at the City Ground 4-2, after conceding three goals in quick succession in the second half.
Phillips apologised via social media.
Phillips will now receive a three game ban.
He had been filling in for injured star Liam Cooper in central defence, after impressing in midfield early this season.
Leeds remain top of the table by two points.
