Leeds United have secured the long-term services of Kalvin Phillips.

Kevin Sharp, the agent of Kalvin Phillips has shared that his client always wants to stay at Leeds United ‘from day one’.
On Monday evening, Leeds announced on their official website that Phillips had penned a new five-year contract with the Championship club.
Along with wanting to secure the services of their best player, Leeds have seemingly reacted to the interest Phillips reportedly attracted over the summer [Telegraph].
This is what Sharp had to say about Phillips, who he believes is good enough to take that next step in the ladder.
“Delighted to get it done,” Sharp told LUFC. “A real important coup for the club to get Kalvin [Phillips] re-signed. It was never in question. From day one, Kalvin wanted to stay at the club.
“His main ambition is to get to the Premier League with Leeds. I believe they are going to do it. The players have to believe that. And Kalvin says that the players seem to have that belief again this year.
“It’s a big statement. Holding onto someone like Kalvin, who for me can handle the next step, so it shows real ambition from Andrea, Victor, Angus and the club itself. I am sure the fans will be delighted.”

Marcelo Bielsa has played a huge part in Phillips becoming the player he is today because it hasn’t always been playing plain sailing for the boyhood Leeds fan.
Phillips did find it tough during the early part of his career, but last season, he took his game to another level and it could be argued that there is no better player in his position in England’s second-tier.
Amid all the positive reaction to Phillips signing a new deal, the players and fans will be hoping to take that mood onto their next league fixture, which will be against Barnsley on Saturday.
