The Leeds United man is linked with a move away from Elland Road, but is Kalmar a potential destination? The club’s sporting director isn’t saying much.
Kalmar sporting director Thomas Andersson Borstam has refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with a move for Leeds United’s Marcus Antonsson.
Fotboll Direkt reported last week that up to five Swedish clubs were interested in signing the 26-year-old striker.
Antonsson had a poor first season with Leeds following a move from Kalmaar last summer, scoring once in 16 Championship games before being frozen out of the squad by then-manager Garry Monk.

With that in mind, speculation about a return to Sweden will come as little surprise, but Andersson Borstam has refused to add fuel to the rumours.
“There I have to be boring. He has been Kalmarspelare but is in Leeds now and therefore I do not want to comment on that,” he told Swedish outlet Barometern.
The writing seems to be on the wall for Antonsson in regards to his Leeds career.
New head coach Thomas Christiansen has failed to use him in any of the Whites’ last three pre-season games, the forward being an unused substitute in each of those matches.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported on Tuesday that Christiansen is in the market for another centre-forward which, if true, offers more substance to rumours that Antonsson is as good as gone.
