It has previously been reported that the Swede cost Leeds around £2 million.
This summer Leeds United signed Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson from Kalmar. The club were reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post to have agreed an eventual fee of £2 million for the striker – who was the top goal-scorer in the Allsvenskan at the time of his move.
But his former club’s chairman has been commenting on the move this week, and suggests that Leeds may not have paid as much for the player as reported.

Kalmar chairman Mattias Rosenlund has told Fotboll Skanalen that Leeds are not set to pay such a fee, and that they have only received one third of the payment for the player so far:
“No, you can say in general that the figures in the media are often salted.
“When there are larger amounts, it is common that it comes in three different stages.”
Antonsson, who was known to Leeds United assistant Pep Clotet, arrived this summer to replace Mirco Antenucci and provide some competition to regular starting striker Chris Wood.

The Swede has found it tough to have a big impact at Leeds since making the move. He has spent much of his time on the bench and has had to play through some niggling injury problems.
He has however won over most fans with his genuine effort, even if it has only rewarded him with the three goals for the club so far.
Leeds fans will no doubt hope he can start scoring goals on a more regular basis in the near future.
