Kaka’s next move?

Seemingly on his way out of Madrid where could Kaka end up? The Premiership, Italy, France or further afield including a personal dream?

Kaka is undisputedly one of the greatest footballers of the last ten years and despite struggling since his short lived world record transfer to Real Madrid his talent and financial draw certainly make him a transfer target for teams around the world, so who lead the way in the race for his signature?

AC Milan

The strongest link has been with a return to the San Siro where Kaka spent the most successful period of his career between 2003 and 2009. He claimed World Footballer of the Year and the Balon d’Or during his time in Italy and the Rossoneri have history of bringing in former legends with the return of Andriy Shevchenko in 2008.

Sao Paulo

Another former club who could be interested in the 30 year old could be boyhood team Sao Paulo. Kaka could follow in the footsteps of fellow professionals Ronaldinho, Luis Fabiano and Deco by returning to their native homeland of Brazil. Kaka is reportedly not keen on a return to Brazil considering it too early at 30 years old.

Paris Saint-Germain

Carlo Ancelotti has already raided his former club for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva as well as adding Ezequiel Lavezzi to his ever burgeoning first team but the hierarchy at PSG could see signing Kaka as a real flexing of financial muscle, and would see Ancelotti’s links with the Brazilian as a significant advantage in bringing him to the French capital.

Premier League

A number of English teams have been linked with the Brazilian, who may consider the Premiership as his final football frontier. Chelsea seem out the running after the purchase of younger compatriot Oscar. Manchester United seem unlikely to move for the 30 year old and the same applies for Arsenal. Man City once bid £100million for the attacking midfielder but now their interest seems to of waned leaving Tottenham and Liverpool as the teams being most strongly linked with a deal.

China

Despite Guangzhou Evergrande admitting they cannot sign Kaka due to a full foreign player quota, many other teams in China would like to bring in a marquee signing after seeing stars such as Didier Drogba and Seydou Keita make the move to the Far East this summer, and with money available Kaka could follow suit.

New York Cosmos?

This one is admittedly just a private dream of mine. As New York Cosmos have been accepted into the North American Soccer League for 2013 and the MLS keen on them becoming their 20th franchise; Kaka may wish to follow in the footsteps of fellow Brazil legend Pele and sign up for the historic side. Money is not in short supply either and he was reportedly on his way to New York Red Bulls before Tim Cahill became their final designated player. At 30 it might be too soon for him and it is a very long shot but I dare to dream, and stranger things have happened in football.

Where do you think Kaka should end up?
