The performances of Leeds United loanee Pontus Jansson have been inspirational this season, already becoming a cult hero at the club.

He is regarded as potentially the best defender the club have signed since former captain Lucas Radebe, certainly if he can maintain his level of form.

Famous indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs are Leeds based and supporters of the club, and they also are very impressed with Jansson’s performances.

Their band name was inspired by the name of Lucas Radebe’s former team in South Africa, the Kaizer Chiefs, and band member Simon Rix has joked that they could soon be switching their name to a Jansson inspired one.

Torino are the club Jansson is currently contracted to, but not for long. When he makes his 20th appearance for Leeds, the Whites will invoke a clause to sign him on a permanent basis.

The centre-back has helped Leeds to win four of their past five league games, with the one they lost being a match in which he was substituted at half-time with an injury.

His form has helped bring a belief back among fans, and Leeds are hoping they will put together a play-off run.
