What a memorable afternoon for promising Liverpool prospect Kaide Gordon at Anfield.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp named Gordon in his starting lineup for the visit of Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup.

And the 17-year-old attacker vindicated his spot in the team within 34 minutes by scoring the Premier League giants’ first of the encounter, cancelling out the visitors’ surprise opener.

This was Gordon’s second-ever competitive game for the Merseysiders – and first in front of the Liverpool supporters at Anfield.

Here’s how the former Derby County academy starlet reacted on Instagram:

Immense

This is a player who is clearly going places and it’s fascinating to see how he’ll continue to develop.

Afterwards, the German manager labelled Gordon a ‘real talent’ and revealed that he is particularly sharp when it comes to finishing.

For someone so young to be as composed as this is genuinely exciting and under the Liverpool trainer, he’s simply going to improve in a massive way.

Before Gordon, everyone at Anfield was raving about Harvey Elliott after breaking into the Reds’ senior squad back in August.

Injury against Leeds United in September has resulted in the 18-year-old missing a chunk of the campaign, but his trajectory is testament to the idea that Klopp knows how to develop talent and it appears as if Gordon is next in line.
