Everton are reportedly looking to bring Watford’s Richarlison to Goodison Park this summer, but here is why West Ham United should try to hijack the deal.

Everton have not had the best of times when it comes to bringing Brazilians to Goodison Park in recent years, with Rodrigo, Anderson Silva and Jo all underwhelming on Merseyside, but it now appears the club are looking to break the curse with a move for Watford winger Richarlison, according to the Liverpool Echo.

However, it seems there is a different Premier League club more suited to Richarlison’s attributes, and they should seriously consider moving in on any potential deal for the former Fluminense man.

West Ham are seriously lacking in depth on the wings, with Edmilson Fernandes being the only natural wide man in the first-team squad, other than the constantly injured Michail Antonio.

As a result David Moyes was forced to play Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini in a forward two almost religiously throughout the season, and the results were mixed at best.

Richarlison would instantly bring an extra dimension to the Hammers. His unpredictability, speed and direct hunger for goal would undoubtedly improve their counter-attacking philosophy, taking some of the attacking pressure off the big Austrian.

Everton, on the other hand, already possess an abundance of attacking wide options, with Theo Walcott, Ademola Lookman, Oumar Niasse and Dominic Calvert-Lewin able to play the role.

Although the player has his flaws, notably his inconsistency, time is on his side and he has already put in some blinding performances in England’s top flight. He would undoubtedly improve either squad, but it seems as though West Ham are far more in need his attributes than the Toffees at this time.
