With Inter Milan’s reported interest, Tottenham Hotspur should look for a swap deal.

Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield enforcer Mousa Dembele looks set to leave north London this summer, with Inter Milan touted as current favourites to land his signature, according to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to be considering offers for the Belgian international – who is entering the final year of his contract – as he is concerned he may no longer be able to match the physical demands of the Premier League (Telegraph).

However, the boss would be foolish to offload a player of Dembele’s immense influence without having a direct replacement lined up, and their man could very well reside with suitors Inter Milan at the San Siro.
Marcelo Brozovic has established himself as a fine midfielder in his time with the Serie A giants, capable of crafting attacks and screening the defence, similar to Dembele. However, his offensive output far outweighs the Tottenham man.
The Croatian international bagged four goals and nine assists in 33 appearances for Inter last term, operating predominantly as a box-to-box midfielder, in what he claims is the best season of his career.

Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Joao Mario, according to Tuttosport but, on last season’s evidence, there is nothing to suggest the Portuguese international is capable of filling the void left by Dembele’s departure.
Brozovic in any deal for Dembele would definitely represent shrewd business on Pochettino’s part as, at the age of 25, the player would be considered a long-term investment for Spurs.
