A round-up of the day’s most interesting news surrounding the London clubs in the Premier League, including Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham.

Yesterday Zinedine Zidane shocked the footballing world, announcing his resignation after securing a hat-trick of Champions League’s in two-and-a-half seasons with Real Madrid.

And it now looks as though the champions are keen on Mauricio Pochettino as his successor, according to Sky Sports.

Madrid are yet to contact the Tottenham boss, and there is no clause in his new five-year contract which would allow him to depart, the report claims. The same sources have also denied allegations of a verbal agreement between the two.

Now across to the north London rivals.

Unai Emery is set to make his first signing as new Arsenal boss, bringing in 17-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yacine Adli, according to the Daily Mail.

The French prospect is highly regarded as one of the finest young talents in his native home, and has already been antiquated with Emery over the Spaniard’s two-years at the club, before joining the Emirates.

The deal tabled is said to be a three-year contract with the Gunners.

The club is also said to be keeping tabs on Aston Villa’s star man Jack Grealish, with speculation suggesting that the Englishman could very well leave Villa Park this summer, according to Sky Sports.

If the club are to move for the 22-year-old they will face competition from fellow Premier League clubs, including Leicester City, who are said to be increasingly interested in the midfielder’s services for next term, with Riyad Mahrez looking for an exit.

Villa would rather not sell their young prodigy, but they may be forced to part in order to ensure Financial Fair Play legislation is adhered to, according to reports for the Telegraph.

Now across to west London.

Maurizio Sarri is now considered unlikely to become the next Chelsea manager after regular brushes with Italy’s football authorities, according reports from Sky Sports.

The club are said to be concerned over the manager’s previous discrepancies in Naples, most notably receiving a fine of £17,000 and a two-game-ban in January for alleged homophobic abuse of fellow countryman Roberto Mancini.

Sarri refuted the allegations against him, but was punished nonetheless and it seems Chelsea may err on the side of caution.

Finally, news from east London.

West Ham United are set to make Fulham defender Ryan Fredericks their first signing of the summer, despite David Moyes’ departure – with the Scot sparking the initial interest, according to football.london.

The tabled contract is said to be for a four-year deal at the London Stadium, and the Standard report that an announcement of the signing is imminent.

It’s been suggested that Fredericks is unhappy with Fulham’s refusal to meet his weekly wage demands of £40,000 and will move on as a result.
