Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he’s as in the dark about Emre Can’s situation as the fans.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been questioned about the future of midfielder Emre Can for most of the season, but has often shut down talk of a departure.
However, it now appears the German isn’t so confident that Can will be at the club come next season, amid rumours of a potential deal with Juventus, as reported by The Guardian.
Juventus expect to announce the signing of the 24-year-old on a free transfer – having run down his contract – after Liverpool’s final against Real Madrid in Kiev next weekend, according to the club’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta.
When asked to comment on Can’s future (Sky Sports News), Klopp’s reply revealed he is as unaware of his situation as the supporters currently are.
“No clue, it’s not important in this moment. He is 100 per cent here but I really have no idea.”
That doesn’t sound too optimistic and certainly suggests that a move to Juventus is very much on the cards at the moment.
Can hasn’t played for Liverpool since he sustained a back injury dating back to March, although, controversially, he was selected to train with the squad in Marbella ahead of the final in Kiev, and is very much in contention to play.
