Tottenham talisman Harry Kane took some time out before an England press conference to do a Twitter Q&A, but it quickly backfired.

Harry Kane of England talks to the media during a press conference at St Georges Park on May 22, 2018 in Burton-upon-Trent, England.

Tottenham’s superstar goal scorer Harry Kane took some time our before attending an England press conference today to do a Twitter Q&A, giving fans a chance to get answers to some serious questions about preparations, ambitions, tactics… yeah right.

A quick glance at the replies and it was clear a pattern was developing. The England captain – as of this morning – must have had his work cut out sifting through some of the questions to find serious ones to answer. But the question bares asking: did he really expect any different after recent events?

Here are some of the funniest /daftest/ flat out pointless questions and replies:

That’s not to say he didn’t answer any serious questions. They just weren’t half as entertaining as the childish jibes at his expense. Surely he’ll have got a laugh out of a few of them though.

Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate had a number of options to choose from for the England captaincy role, including Jordan Henderson and Eric Dier, but ultimately he opted for the Tottenham talisman, who bagged a staggering 41 goals last term – as reported by BBC Sport – and Kane is relishing the opportunity to lead the team out for the first time.

“I’m so excited for the World Cup, I can’t wait to be there and experience it. To lead the lads out, it’s going to be special.”
