Juventus will reportedly scout Belgium youngster Jeremy Doku this week in their 2022 FIFA World Cup opener against Canada, with Liverpool also interested in signing the attacker.
According to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, Juventus will have scouts in attendance in Qatar to watch the 20-year-old attacker, who CalcioMercato have recently reported is on Liverpool’s radar ahead of the January transfer window as Doku looks set to make his World Cup debut.
A regular for Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais, Doku is regarded by many as one of the brightest prospects in Belgium’s next generation, with Liverpool keen on signing the attacker as Juventus now look to scout the youngster, who could feature for the Red Devils heavily this month.
With Jeunes Footeux reporting that Rennes value their star attacker as highly as £66m, a strong showing in Qatar from Doku could inspire top clubs to move in for the youngster despite the lofty price tag. And Juventus’ presence could spur Liverpool to accelerate their interest.
Indeed, attack is a position that the Reds could look to improve in during the January market. And if Doku lights up the World Cup, there’s a strong chance that the likes of Juventus will move to sign the Belgian international, who could earn his big break in the coming weeks.
Juventus signing Doku would be a nightmare for Liverpool

Doku has been linked with a move to Liverpool ever since the forward broke onto the scene back in 2018. And whilst the Reds missing out on the youngster won’t be the end of the world, Jurgen Klopp would see it as a nightmare if the winger ends up in the hands of Juventus.
After all, the attacker has the potential to become the next great attacking talent for Belgium. And if Liverpool were to miss out on Doku, Juventus could find themselves with a player who would have been perfect for the Anfield side with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in need of replacing in the long-term.
