Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie has been quoted by 90Min as saying that he has a special relationship with Leeds United star Tyler Adams – even joking that the summer signing from Leipzig “does all his running”.
McKennie, 24, remains a crucial part of a struggling Juventus side under Max Allegri. Joining the Old Lady, initially on loan in 2020 from Schalke, McKennie has gone on to clock up 83 appearances for the Serie A giants.
Right now, he is on international duty. He is about to play alongside Adams for the United States in a friendly against Japan. The games kicks off this afternoon at 1.25PM, in Germany. The USMNT are preparing for the World Cup.
Of course, McKennie and Adams will be taking on England in the group stage. Asked about his partnership with Adams at the base of the USMNT midfielder – behind Brenden Aaronson – McKennie raved about the Leeds player.

“As far as me and Tyler, have learned about each other is that he does all the running and I do all the playing. No, I’m just kidding! But I think just us being together for as long as we have,” McKennie said.
“Knowing each other for so long, we’ve, I think, developed a relationship that we know each other’s tendencies. We know each other’s abilities, we know each other’s strengths and weaknesses and how to cover for one another.”

There is a potential future for McKennie in the Premier League, without a doubt. A player that is still young, but has the physicality and fitness – combined with the technical ability – to thrive in England. Right now, he is at Juventus.
He has a contract with Juventus until June 2025. But he has been linked with the Premier League. Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici signed McKennie at Juventus – and now, he wants to sign the £34m ace at Juve.
