Juventus reportedly reactive contact with ‘genius’ goalscorer Leeds allegedly want

Leeds United are now reportedly facing competition for Edinson Cavani from Juventus.

Interest from Leeds United

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani hinted at a move for the Uruguay international striker in July, as quoted on Football Italia and covered on HITC Sport here.

ESPN Uruguay subsequently reported that the West Yorkshire outfit have made contact with the former Paris Saint-Germain star, as covered by HITC Sport.

The Daily Mail has also claimed that Leeds – who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship – are among the clubs who have expressed an interest in signing the veteran striker.

Competition from Juventus

Cavani is a free agent at the moment, having left PSG earlier this summer, and Gianlucadimarzio.com has now reported that Juventus are looking to sign him.

It has been reported that the Italian champions have ‘reactivated contacts’ with the 33-year-old striker, with Luis Suarez yet to be freed from his contract by Barcelona.

Missing out?

Described as a player who “is a genius as a goalscorer” by PSG defender Marquinhos in Goal.com in June 2017, Cavani is one of the best strikers in the world, and while he would be a blockbuster signing for Leeds, it is hard to see him choose the Whites ahead of Italian and European giants Juventus.
