Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League opponents are plotting a move which may be of interest to Mauricio Pochettino.

Juventus are monitoring Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The Italian champions are keen on the Spaniard, who spent the 2016/17 season on loan with Tottenham Hotspur.

Lopez did not play a single first team game during his spell in England, but has earned his place back in the Espanyol XI.

His performances are gathering interest, with Juventus, Napoli, Sevilla, Real Betis and Villarreal all keen on his services.

Lopez’s contract at Espanyol expires at the end of this season, which has accelerated the clamour for his signature.

Lopez is just 23-years-old and has been capped at under-21 level by Spain.

It is uncertain if Juventus are planning to move this January, but if they did it would add a little more dynamic to their Champions League tie with Tottenham, with Lopez potentially able to give the Italians a first hand scouting report on his old side.

Juventus’ first choice remains Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon.
