The Italian talked about having the opportunity to join Celtic six years ago.

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero sat down for an exclusive interview with Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, and claimed that he had the chance to join Celtic in 2012, but eventually rejected a switch to Parkhead.
The Italian spent most of his career in Turin, winning a Champions League medal and six Serie A titles with Juve. He also won the World Cup with Italy in 2006, and he has firmly established himself as one of the game’s all-time greats.
Del Piero, 43, scored 315 goals in 768 career appearances, and although he would have been 37 when he had the chance to join Celtic, he surely would have still made a huge impact for the Glasgow giants.
The footballing legend sat down for an exclusive interview with Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, and claimed that he had the chance to join the Hoops six years ago:

“When I left Juventus I had the chance to join Celtic but I rejected their offer because I didn’t want to play in Europe for another team. I had already decided to leave the Continent and I said now. In the following season Juve and Celtic met in the Champions League and I thought: ‘Luckily I didn’t join them!”
Celtic have had some great players down the years, but Del Piero could very well have been one the very best ever to grace Parkhead.
