From Andrea Pirlo to Paul Pogba, Juventus have made a habit of doing some terrific business when it comes to free transfers in recent times. The Italian giants have been at it once again this summer, having announced the arrival of Welsh international Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal some time ago.

Now, we’re not going to include Ramsey in this seven since clearly he is at Juventus, but we will start with the Old Lady’s most recent free transfers since him. Here are Juventus’ last 7 free transfer signings: Where are they now?

7. Emre Can – Juventus

Getting us started and somewhat unsurprisingly still at Juventus having only joined the club last summer is German international Emre Can. A graduate of the Bayern Munich academy, Can joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2013, but was snapped up by Liverpool who activated his £9.75 million release clause after just a single season with the Bayer-owned outfit. Can made over 150 appearances as a regular fixture in the Liverpool side over the next four seasons, even scoring the 2016-17 Premier League Goal of the Season. He left on a free transfer for Juventus last summer though, where he played 37 games last season.

6. Dani Alves – Free Agent

Somewhat aptly a free agent, just as he was when he joined Juventus, Dani Alves was signed by Juve following eight extraordinarily successful seasons at Barcelona in 2016. With 39 senior trophies at club and international level to his name, it has been claimed that Alves is the most decorated footballer of all time, and he is certainly one of the finest right-backs of his generation. Alves signed a two-year deal in Turin, but stuck around only for one, before joining PSG on a free transfer. He spent two seasons in the French capital, racking up 73 appearances, but the 36-year-old is a free agent once more this summer at the time of recording at least.

5. Sami Khedira – Juventus

The second and indeed the last player in this seven who is still contracted to Juventus, Sami Khedira joined the 35-time Italian champions in 2015. He arrived in Turin off the back of five seasons with Real Madrid, where he played 161 games and won seven trophies. A World Cup winner the previous summer, Khedira had some injury problems during his time with Real, and he was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat mid-way through last season. The intelligent and industrious 32-year-old is contracted to Juve until 2021.

4. Neto – Barcelona

Once-capped Brazilian international goalkeeper Neto also joined Juventus on a free transfer in the summer of 2015, having spent the last two seasons as a regular at Fiorentina. He wasn’t a regular at the Allianz Stadium though, spending two seasons as a backup to Gianluigi Buffon. The deal worked out pretty well for Juve who sold Neto for €7 million to Valencia in 2017, and after two good seasons with the La Liga side, Neto will be a number two again next season having just joined Barcelona in a deal which will see the Netherlands number one Jasper Cillessen head in the opposite direction.

3. Kingsley Coman – Bayern Munich

There were a lot of parallels between Juventus’ signing of Kingsley Coman and their signing of Paul Pogba, and I don’t just mean the fact that both players are French. Like Pogba, Coman was a teenage star at international youth level that wasn’t really getting a look in at club level with a European giant. Juve poached the wide man from PSG in 2014 on a free, before receiving €28 million for him from Bayern Munich. That price included a two-year loan fee, and then ultimately the price to make the move a permanent one, which Bayern did. At the age of 23, Coman has won 15 trophies, including league titles in three different countries. He’s a huge talent, but he has suffered from a recurring ankle injury and says he has contemplated retiring if he isn’t able to fully get over it.

2. Fernando Llorente – Free Agent

Fernando Llorente had a brief but impressive two-year stint with Juventus, enjoying an excellent debut campaign in Turin. The Spanish international averaged a goal every other game in Serie A before leaving the club – just as he joined them – on a free transfer. His next club was Sevilla, where things didn’t quite work out, but Llorente impressed in the Premier League with Swansea. He has spent the last two seasons playing second fiddle to Harry Kane at Tottenham, where he scored a hugely important goal in Spurs’ Champions League win over Man City en-route to the final. His Tottenham contracted just came to an end though, and the experienced centre-forward is being linked with AC Milan at the time of this recording.

1. Rubinho – Avai

Brought to Juventus by Antonio Conte back in 2012, Rubinho is the second Brazilian goalkeeper in this seven. Capped 19 times by Brazil at under-20 level, Rubinho made his name in Brazil with Corinthians. He joined Juve on a free transfer from Palermo, where he went from being a second choice goalkeeper to third choice. Now aged 36, Rubinho has since been contracted to Como and Genoa, but he is now back in Brazil playing for recently-promoted Avai.
