If you’re a major football club and you haven’t been linked with Odsonne Edouard this year, you’re doing something wrong.

The Celtic striker has been mentioned in connection with numerous sides over the last 12 months, and prior to that the likes of Real Madrid and Lyon were reportedly interested.

Despite beginning the season with a hat-trick against Hamilton Accies, Edouard’s form has dipped during a campaign that has seen his side knocked out of the Betfred Cup by Ross County, finish bottom of their Europa League group and fall 16 points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership title race.

A record of nine goals in 20 matches is far from embarrassing, but also some way short of the form he showed during 2019/20, when he found the net 29 times in 47 games.

The 22-year-old has shown he can do it outside Scotland, with 15 goals in 10 appearances for France’s Under-21 side as well as a clinical strike against Milan in the San Siro earlier this month.

That appears to have caught the eye of Rossoneri boss Stefano Pioli, with Calcio Mercato reporting that Milan could be eyeing a move for Edouard in the January transfer window.

That report says they could face competition from Serie A rivals Juventus, with Andrea Pirlo said to be keen on a man valued at between £13.5-18 million.

The apparent Italian interest takes the total tally of clubs linked with Edouard to 25. That includes seven Italian sides, 11 from the English Premier League, four French clubs, two from the Bundesliga and one from Spain.

Here is the full list of sides credited with a desire to capture Celtic’s star man.
