Juventus fighting on two fronts as Pogba agent arrives

It’s a huge night for Juventus as they take on Benfica for a place in the Europa League final and Paul Pogba’s agent arrives to discuss his future.

Juventus face a tough test this evening if they are to overturn a first-leg deficit against Benfica and reach the Europa League final, while it could also be D-day in the boardroom.

The Old Lady were beaten 2-1 away to Benfica but only need a 1-0 win to ensure their place in the final, which will be held in their Juventus Stadium.

Juventus are without a European title since their 1996 Champions League triumph and the club has suffered some turbulent times since.

With Chilean midfield star Arturo Vidal struggling with a knee injury, there will be increased pressure on Paul Pogba to step up alongside Andrea Pirlo.

As the action unfolds on the pitch, there could also be drama in the stands as Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola will be present and is expected to discuss his client’s future with Juventus directors Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici.

Juventus are attempting to convince Pogba to sign a new contract in the hope of safeguarding him from the many European clubs said to be looking to sign him.

However, Pogba has refused to commit and it has been suggested that agent Raiola will wait until after the World Cup when there could be a flood of offers if Pogba stars for France.

With Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain said to be hovering, Juventus will be keen to secure a show of loyalty from Pogba and a victory over Benfica could aid them in convincing him his future lies in Turin.
