Italian outlet CMW claim Juventus could pursue a move to sign Liverpool ace Roberto Firmino in the January transfer window, and it might be that the two parties strike a swap agreement with Firmino and their new loan signing Arthur.
Firmino, 30, has made an excellent start to the 2022-23 campaign in place of new signing Darwin Nunez. Nunez was shown a straight red card against Crystal Palace and Brazil international Firmino has come into the side to replace him.
In his five Premier League appearances, only three of which he has started, he has laid on six goal involvements. But Firmino is out of contract at the end of the season. Given his early-season form, Liverpool might think of a new deal.
The report claims that Liverpool may prevent Firmino to enter talks regarding a pre-contract agreement. As things stand, he will be allowed to do that with non-English clubs from January 1. To prevent it, he will need to sign a contract.
Juventus are keen. They would be able to sign Firmino on a free in January, and get him next summer. But if Liverpool prevent that with a new deal, that will not stop Juventus. They would offer Liverpool a swap for Arthur, permanently.

A deal does make sense, if Liverpool prevent Firmino from going on a free or signing a pre-contract agreement. Juventus are known for their work in the free transfer market, previously signing Emre Can from Liverpool on a free.
If Juventus want Firmino in January, Liverpool are unlikely to want to let him go. He is an important part of the current side. But if Liverpool also want Arthur beyond the loan, perhaps sending Firmino to Juventus would save some cash.
