Massimiliano Allegri believes the Argentine is better than Tottenham Hotspur’s strike sensation.
Gonzalo Higuain of Juventus celebrates
One of the big battles being built up before the Champions League clash between Tottenham and Juventus this evening revolves around both club’s free-scoring strikers.
Juventus have the bullish Argentine Gonzalo Higuain in their ranks. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur fans are currently in no doubt that Harry Kane is the best out-and-out striker in the world.
Speaking ahead of tonight’s game, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has been comparing the two. Speaking to SportMediaset he made his point very clear that between the two, Higuain is the striker he prefers:
Massimiliano Allegri
“Higuain (is better), even if Kane is really strong and good.”
Of course, he would have to say that considering Higuain is the man who will need to fire if Juve are to shove Tottenham out of Europe.
Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur
Higuain has been in fine form for some time now. He has scored 18 goals so far this season and since leaving Real Madrid for Italy, originally with Napoli, in 2013 he has scored 141 goals in 234 appearances.
Spurs fans however believe Kane is the better. He is younger, leaner, faster and is currently outscoring the Argentine this season. In fact, Kane’s tally is exactly double that of Higuain’s.
Tottenham will hope their star striker can prove Allegri wrong this evening.
