Newcastle United have been linked with Stefano Sturaro on a number of occasions.

The agent of Juventus ace Stefano Sturaro has refused to deny that Newcastle United are interested in signing the midfielder during this month’s transfer window, as quoted by Tutto Mercato Web.
The Magpies have won two of their last four Premier League games to eek their way up to 13th place in the Premier League table, but manager Rafael Benitez still needs reinforcements.

With confusion over the club’s ongoing takeover situation, Benitez doesn’t even know the budget he has to work with, which is making signings very difficult for the Magpies boss.
One player regularly linked with a move to St. James’ Park is Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro, who is something of a bit-part player in Turin.
The 24-year-old has started just six games in all competitions this season, and with the likes of Sami Khedira, Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi ahead of him in the pecking order, he could leave this month.

Back in November, Sturaro’s agent – Carlo Volpi – was quoted by Football Italia as saying that Everton and Newcastle were keen on his client, and he has again been asked about Newcastle’s pursuit.
Volpi was asked by Tutto Mercato Web whether Atalanta, Fiorentina, Genoa, Valencia and Newcastle are interested in Sturaro, and he responded by saying that “I can only say that some are right”.
That may again hint that Newcastle are pursuing Sturaro’s signature, with former Napoli boss Benitez possibly aware of the midfielder’s displays for Genoa, though any move for the versatile, hard-working Italian international may have to be a loan deal.
