Justin Rose will tee off alongside Tommy Fleetwood in the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship, with Scottie Scheffler just behind them on the leaderboard.
Rose enters the final round one shot behind Fleetwood, while Scheffler sits another stroke further back.
The 2025 PGA Tour season has treated both Englishmen well, but it has been the American star who has truly separated himself from everyone else.
Scheffler’s level of play has drawn comparisons to Tiger Woods’ prime. Even without his best game this week, he remains right in contention in Memphis.
Fleetwood has looked sharp all week and appears fully comfortable with where his game is at the moment.
The same goes for Rose. Despite feeling unwell before the tournament and skipping practice rounds, he’s benefited from fresher legs throughout the event.
Justin Rose on why Tommy Fleetwood is glad he is not playing with Scottie Scheffler

Fleetwood will be in the final group tomorrow with Rose, while the world No. 1 will play in the penultimate pairing alongside US Open champion J.J. Spaun.
After his round, Rose was asked if he was aware of Scheffler’s position just behind him on the leaderboard.
He said: “100 percent, yeah. I knew Scottie was 12-under. I was 12-under playing the last. I knew it would be nice to play with Tommy on Sunday. Tommy is probably happy I’m playing with him on Sunday rather than Scottie, too, so he was probably cheering that birdie I would imagine just because it’s a comfortable environment for the two of us to play.
“There’s a whole chasing pack tomorrow that have nothing to lose, so that’s always dangerous. If you build a six shot lead, that’s something to think about. A one-shot lead, you’re expecting the whole pack to come at you. It’s going to be who comes out tomorrow, who plays free and who plays well.”
When asked about the possibility of playing with one of his closest friends in Sunday’s final round, Rose said: “There’s a whole chasing pack tomorrow that have nothing to lose, so that’s always dangerous. If you build a six shot lead, that’s something to think about. A one-shot lead, you’re expecting the whole pack to come at you. It’s going to be who comes out tomorrow, who plays free and who plays well.
“Yeah, I haven’t done it many times, to be honest with you. Yeah, I think I’m pretty – there’s a lot at stake tomorrow. If you win, clearly tons at stake. Whatever happens tomorrow, either of us is going to have to just hang in there, keep having as best day as we possibly can because there’s just lots to play for. We want to come out and win. We want to come out and play great. That’s objective A.
“But if you’ve got to resort to plan B, we’ll be out there, we’ll be playing in good spirits, we’ll have our heads down, work as hard as we can, shake hands and give each other a hug on 18.”
This might turn out to be exactly what Fleetwood needs – even if facing Scheffler head-to-head could have brought out another level in his game.
FedEx St. Jude stats for Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, and Scottie Scheffler
Fleetwood, Rose and Scheffler have clearly been the standout players at TPC Southwind this week, and the numbers back it up.
They currently sit first, second and third in strokes gained total for the tournament.
| Stats | Fleetwood | Rose | Scheffler |
| Strokes gained off the tee | 5 | 8 | 3 |
| Strokes gained approach | 4 | 9 | 13 |
| Strokes gained around the green | 43 | 29 | 56 |
| Strokes gained putting | 8 | 7 | 3 |
| Strokes gained total | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Scheffler will be looking to add an 18th PGA Tour title as he tries to close the gap on Fleetwood and Rose in the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
But if Fleetwood can repeat his ball-striking performance from Saturday, he’ll have a great chance to finally claim his first PGA Tour win in what would be his 162nd start.
