Justin Gaethje is not pleased with Paddy Pimblett’s recent comments about a retired UFC legend and plans to make him answer for it in their upcoming fight.

The two lightweights are set to headline UFC 324 this Saturday in Las Vegas, battling for the interim belt.

The stars of the inaugural UFC event on Paramount participated in a pre-fight press conference on Thursday.

The press conference itself was relatively low-key, except for one moment when Justin Gaethje spoke up about something that did not sit well with him.

Justin Gaethje accuses Paddy Pimblett of disrespect ahead of UFC 324

Gaethje has accused Pimblett of arrogance and disrespect in the lead-up to their bout at UFC 324.

‘The Highlight’ took issue with a recent comment Pimblett made about his former opponent, Dustin Poirier.

Speaking at the pre-fight press event, the 37-year-old American said: “You know, he definitely sounds overconfident.”

“He’s out here disrespecting legends like Dustin Poirier.

“I’m gonna dog walk this English f— on Saturday. Watch!”

Pimblett defended his comments as ‘honest’ and aimed at someone who has also criticised him.

“Dustin has never got a nice word to say about me,” ‘The Baddy’ answered.

“So, I was honest and said he looked like s— against [Max] Holloway.

“F—ing hell, stop f—ing crying, you gang of farts.”

Gaethje interjected: “You would also look like s— against Holloway.”

Pimblett then concluded the conversation by stating: “We’ll see, once I beat you, I could be fighting him.”

Paddy Pimblett criticises Dustin Poirier’s retirement decision

Pimblett has not held back when it comes to sharing his thoughts on Poirier’s decision to announce his retirement before facing Max Holloway at UFC 318.

‘The Baddy’ believes that declaration set up unnecessary pressure, and the outcome – a unanimous decision loss – did not help the narrative.

“I look at Dustin Poirier for an example,” Pimblett said to TNT Sports.

“He’s come out and said, ‘Yeah, I’m having this retirement fight’. And then he looked like a piece of dog s—.

“Got his head punched in for five rounds and looked like s—. And had all this big s— made.”

“If you’re gonna retire, you need to just do it. You don’t wanna tell everyone.

“He put too much expectation on his shoulders and got muftied in his own backyard.

“Made himself look stupid.”
