Leeds fans have taken to Twitter in excitement after Leeds Live revealed some interesting news about Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood.
What’s the story?
According to Leeds Live, Gelhardt and Greenwood are likely to get first-team opportunities under Marcelo Bielsa during pre-season.
The precocious duo are expected to be involved in first-team training over the summer, as EURO 2020 throws a spanner in the works.
Depending on how far his players go in the competition, Bielsa might not get all of his options back in time for pre-season.
As a result, Gelhardt and Greenwood are expected to come in.
Leeds Live claim that Bielsa watched every single Under-23 game this season, and is known to admire the pair of strikers.
That doesn’t surprise us.
Gelhardt and Greenwood shone this season

In 16 Premier League 2 outings, Gelhardt scored 11 goals and provided three assists.
The 19-year-old was rewarded with a place on the bench for eight Premier League games this season.
In Greenwood’s case, the ex-Arsenal forward scored 12 goals in 18 Premier League 2 appearances.
He was handed his first-team debut in the 3-0 defeat to Crawley Town in the FA Cup.

Now, both strikers have a great chance to impress Bielsa.
If they do well, don’t be surprised to see the Argentine use them in Premier League action next season.
For now, let’s see how the Leeds fans on Twitter reacted to the news…
