Kieran Tierney had an absolute stormer for Arsenal on Saturday night.
The Gunners put Sam Allardyce’s West Bromwich Albion to the sword with a ruthless 4-0 win at The Hawthorns.
And so much of what Arsenal did well stemmed from Tierney.
First, the Scotland international, brought to the club by Unai Emery in 2019, opened the scoring, cutting inside on his weaker right foot and curling past Sam Johnstone in the Baggies’ net.
The 23-year-old left-back was a thorn all night long for Albion and also set up Alexandre Lacazette’s second of the night – and Arsenal’s fourth.
It’s nights like this which remind everybody that the North Londoners got an absolute bargain when they paid Celtic £25 million for him 18 months ago.
And here’s how fans of the Emirates Stadium side reacted to his display:
This was Arsenal’s third-straight Premier League win and it seems like Mikel Arteta has his troops playing for him again.
Arteta’s side slumped to 15th in the table at one point last month, but now they’re up to 11th and if the rest of the players show the same commitment, style and quality as Tierney did last night, propelling up that table during the second half of the campaign won’t be an issue.
