Rangers defender Gareth McAuley is out injured.

Gareth McAuley of Rangers arrives prior to the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Livingston and Rangers at Tony Macaroni Arena on January 27, 2019 in Livingston, United Kingdom.

Rangers defender Gareth McAuley has picked up another injury, Steven Gerrard has confirmed.

Gerrard told Rangers’ press conference this morning that McAuley has a fresh hamstring injury.

This is another blow for the 39-year-old, who has only played twice for Rangers in 2019.

These appearances were back in January, in the defeat to Kilmarnock followed by the Scottish Cup win over Cowdenbeath.

McAuley is entrenched as fourth choice at Rangers, behind Connor Goldson, Joe Worrall and Nikola Katic.

The Northern Ireland international signed as a free agent in September and has made only 10 appearances for Rangers.

He now could miss the international break and the rest of this month’s action for the Gers.
