Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has tried to dissect Manchester United’s loss to Liverpool on Tuesday, and he’s been speaking about Thiago Alcantara.
The Spanish maestro was absolutely untouchable against the Red Devils on Tuesday, he ran the show, and he was even showboating in a game that should have been a closely-run affair between two of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Ferdinand noted that Thiago was turning on the style, comparing him to a kid in a school playground trying out different tricks.
What’s been said?
Ferdinand spoke about Thiago.
“Liverpool’s front three ran riot, scored and assisted each other, it was unreal. Thiago, it was like he was in the school playground, he was taking liberties just trying stuff out, taking liberties, can someone just get close to him and get a hand on him, at least, it’s difficult sometimes, but he was just going ‘let me try this one quickly’, and he was taking liberties,” Ferdinand said.

Taking liberties
Ferdinand says that Thiago was taking Liberties against Man United, and he’s not wrong.
This wasn’t like a kid playing in a playground, this was like an adult taking part in an U11s game, nobody could get near Thiago, and he was able to make United look like absolute fools.
It was the perfect combination of brilliance from Thiago and ineptitude from United, and in years to come, we may well remember this as one of the greatest Premier League performances of all-time.
