Some Wolves fans on social media have been reacting to Pedro Neto’s performance for Portugal on Tuesday evening.
The Wolves winger didn’t start for Portugal against Luxembourg, but after the reigning European champions were shocked by an early goal by the minnows, they had to make changes.
Indeed, Portugal made their first substitution before the first half had even ended, and the man they looked towards to change their fortunes was Neto.
As it happened, Neto was the perfect player to bring on, the attacker grabbed an assist within five minutes of entering proceedings, while he would go on to set up another goal later in the game.
Interestingly, his first assist came for former Wolves teammate Diogo Jota, in a cruel reminder of what could have been at Molineux this season if the club hadn’t sold the attacker to Liverpool.
Regardless of how well Jota is doing at Anfield, Wolves have a new star winger who’s stepped up and taken his place, and his name is Pedro Neto.
