Michael Owen has claimed that what Jurgen Klopp has done at Liverpool over the years has just been ‘stunning’, as he told DAZN.

The former Liverpool striker added that Klopp just ‘gets life and the city’ on Merseyside and he hopes he ‘stays around for longer’.

The two best deals the Reds have concluded recently have been Mohamed Salah extending his stay at the club and Klopp also signing a new contract.

Whether the German stays beyond his current contract or goes onto leave, one thing is for sure, he will go down in the club’s history.

Ending Liverpool’s 30-year wait for a title and putting a sixth European Cup in their cabinet has put him in the legendary books of the fans.

Former England star Owen was asked to share his thoughts on Klopp and what he has done for the Reds over the years.

“Stunning, just absolutely stunning,” said Owen. “He’s come into Liverpool, how long, what six years ago? And just gets it.

“Gets life and gets the city. How can anybody not like or rate him? He’s taken the club to that next level. We are watching a team that is just one of the most exhilarating.

“You get excited every time Liverpool are about to play. They attack. They are brave. Take risks and it all stems from the top and Jurgen Klopp has just been stunning. I am sure Liverpool fans hope he stays around for longer.”

PUSHING FOR ANOTHER TITLE

Whilst it was special for Liverpool to win a Premier League title under Klopp, the fact that the main event was behind closed doors, perhaps resulted in it losing a bit of edge.

Now the fans want another English crown added to their ranks, but this time where they can celebrate at Anfield and alongside the players.

The one big stumbling block in their way is a certain Pep Guardiola and his free-scoring Manchester City side.

They have won a remarkable four out of the last five Premier League titles, including becoming champions on the last day of the previous campaign.
