Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports during their live coverage of Liverpool’s draw against Manchester United that Thiago Alcantara’s dribbling was ‘fantastic’ on Sunday.
Thiago started his first Premier League game at Anfield, but he was unable to secure all three points for a Liverpool team who haven’t scored in their last three league matches.
It could be argued that Thiago was one of the best players on the pitch yesterday, but it wasn’t enough to break Man United’s defence.
Nonetheless, Carragher was impressed with what he was seeing from the Champions League winner.
“You think about his passing, but some of his dribbles today have been fantastic,” said Carragher.
“He has just stood players up. Two or three times. It has happened to Fred. “

With Jordan Henderson and Fabinho playing at centre-back, Liverpool are missing their presence and quality in the middle of the park.
But whilst Thiago cannot provide that combative nature and aggression those two bring, he does elevate and add much-needed spice to the middle of the park.
It’s now a case of keeping him out of the treatment room because he could be the key to unlocking a Liverpool front three who have looked like strangers recently.
