Chelsea fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumour that their former player Willian is heading for an abrupt end at Arsenal.
To say that Willian’s move from Chelsea to Arsenal has been an utter disaster would be an understatement.
A lot was made of it when the winger opted to move from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates, but it just hasn’t worked out for the player or his current club.
Chelsea will perhaps feel they did well to get him off their books given that his form has fallen off a cliff during this past year or so.
It has been suggested that Willian is expected to terminate the final two years of his Arsenal contract and possibly return to his old stomping ground in Corinthians, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
There are some Chelsea fans who aren’t surprised at this situation, whilst others feel that it’s a sorry state of affairs to see him in this position.
It started ever so well for Willian in North London because he started his career like a house on fire by assisting two goals on his debut.
And that really was it for the Brazilian. Like, really!
It doesn’t help when Willian claimed, upon signing for the Gunners, that Mikel Arteta’s aim was to win the Champions League, as he told Sky Sports.
And it just so happens to be that the club he did leave actually ended up putting the European Cup in their cabinet instead.
Arsenal fans will no doubt be glad to see the back of him, and in truth, Arteta should have been ruthless with him quicker than this.
The likes of Reiss Nelson could have earned all those wasted minutes Willian got last season, but it’s a mistake they have to live with now.
