Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on signing the Liverpool hitman.

Roy Hodgson manager

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson will be desperate to bolster his attacking ranks at Selhurst Park this summer, with the addition of an established Premier League hitman surely featuring highly on the 70-year-old’s agenda.

The Eagles need a smaller, quicker type striker – one who will be able to link up with, and possibly get the best out of, Christian Benteke.

According to a report from the Independent, Palace are interested in signing Liverpool hitman Danny Ings, and he would be the absolute perfect partner for the 6ft 3in Belgian.

The 25-year-old is valued at around £20 million, according to the Sun, and in today’s day and age, that would surely represent decent value for money for the south London outfit.

Ings possesses blistering pace, and is always looking to run in behind the opposition’s defence – an attribute that would compliment Benteke’s playing style perfectly.

The Liverpool man also has wonderfully impressive movement, and he is a real nuisance for opposing defenders.

With Christian Benteke’s penchant for playing with his back to goal, and excellent hold-up skills, the duo could work in tandem together to form a really productive strike partnership.

Crystal Palace will be looking to crack the top 10 this season, and if Hodgson manages to bring Ings to Selhurst Park this summer, they will be in a great position from which to achieve just that.
