Some Newcastle United fans on Twitter have urged their club to sign Joe Willock on a permanent contract from Arsenal following his heroics against Liverpool at Anfield.
Willock, signed on loan from Arsenal in the January transfer window, came off the substitutes’ bench to score for Newcastle in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool away from home at Anfield on Saturday.
The England Under-21 international midfielder found the back of the net in the fifth minute of injury time to rescue a point for the Magpies.
The 21-year-old has made seven starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Magpies, scoring four goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
Newcastle were looking like getting relegated just a few weeks ago, but now Steve Bruce’s side appear safe.
Willock has played his role, and some Newcastle fans on Twitter have urged the club to pay the £20 million reportedly needed to make his loan deal permanent in the summer transfer window.

The Telegraph reported earlier this month that Arsenal are looking for £20 million as transfer fee for Willock.
