Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the scar on Joe Gomez’s knee, after he posted photos of his recovery process yesterday.
The 11-cap England international showed images of himself in the gym and on an exercise bike on Thursday afternoon.
In the photos, a significant scar can be seen on his left knee, which has got plenty of Liverpool fans talking.
As one fan alludes to, the size of the scar only provokes more thought as to what happened to Gomez in England training when the injury occurred.
As ESPN covered, Gareth Southgate said that nobody was near him when the incident happened back in November.
Of course, the scar is a result of the surgery rather than the incident itself, although it must’ve been a pretty unfortunate event to require Gomez being opened up like that.
Regardless of the scar, it is extremely pleasing to see the former Charlton man back working on his fitness and pushing his knee in the gym.
Liverpool are currently in a real slump, and Jurgen Klopp must surely be counting down the days until Gomez and Virgil van Dijk return.
The Reds are winless in five Premier League games, and have scored just once throughout that period.
