Speaking on the Where’s Jeff Podcast, Matt Le Tissier has been previewing West Ham vs Southampton, claiming that he’s worried about the prospect of the Saints facing off against Michail Antonio.

The Hammers have gotten off to a fantastic start in the league this season, going unbeaten in their first three games, and that’s largely been down to the form of Antonio.

The striker is the Premier League’s top scorer, and Le Tissier is worried about how his side will cope against the Jamaica international.

What’s been said?

Le Tissier gave his thoughts ahead of the game.

“I have to say I’ve watched them quite closely the past couple of years. I was at the London Stadium not last season the season before and it was just incredible how Antonio bullied our centre-backs and how easy it was for him in that game. He ran them ragged. I have to say that he’s started the season on fire. I am a little bit concerned about my team being able to handle him,” The pundit said.

Should be worried

As much as Southampton fans won’t like to hear it, Le Tissier is absolutely right to be worried about Antonio.

The striker is in red hot form, and if the likes of Leicester City couldn’t keep tabs on him, what chance have Southampton got?

The Saints will have a huge job on their hands this weekend in keeping Antonio quiet, and it’s a task that they may not be up to if the striker brings his A-game.
