Well, Paul Lambert won’t be Celtic’s next manager.

The iconic Hoops midfielder has ruled himself out of the running to replace Neil Lennon at Parkhead.

Lennon quit as Celtic boss earlier this week following a disastrous season, as Rangers sit top of the Premiership table by 18 points.

And Lambert, who’s in charge at Ipswich Town, revealed on Thursday that he has no interest in the position.

But Norwich City legend Iwan Roberts has quipped on Twitter that the 51-year-old Scot was never even in the running to begin with.

John Kennedy will take the job on an interim basis but long term, Celtic do need another high-profile appointment.

We’ve already seen how successful somebody like Brendan Rodgers was in Glasgow and another figure of that ilk would be unbelievable for the Bhoys.

It’s easier said than done, of course, but Celtic is still a huge club despite their struggles this season and they won’t have a hard time attracting a top coach.
